Vision Board
We Need Something in Common
We need something in common to start a project. Vision Boards are great entry points when starting.
Low Cost
Vision Boards explicitily serves as a creative and expressive place to bring ideas forward with little personal investment (preciousness) while also allows for a cohort (who might be new to working together) the ability to meet, interface, and build rapport with very low stakes.
Rapport
This rapport building step is cruicial when the project inevitably will need some give or take down the line.
Vocabulary
This step is also huge for articulating the vocabulary and the "training" of the parties involved. Which is huge when technical teams meet creative teams meet administrative teams. When all these different disciplines come together with unique knowledge bases, it is easy for talent and steak holders to miss on commmunication. The Vision Board step, helps soften this onboarding.
Energy
To close a project... you will need to bring more than you think. Projects always take more energy than we plan for. The easiest way to muster the needed juice to bring a project to completion is to draw from the emotions often injected into the project in the vision board stage. With that being said, use this stage as a safe place to GET EXCITED ABOUT THE BUILD! Hype it up! Put on some music! Draw from the wonderful and successful projects that have made their way onto your vision board. + Its Free!
